Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Business
Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Business Administration is a faculty that provides 100% English-language education. The faculty consists of five departments: Business Administration, Economics, Tourism Management, International Relations, and International Business and Trade. Additionally, the faculty offers dual-degree programs in collaboration with Dokuz Eylül University (DEÜ) and Albany University, a part of the State University of New York (SUNY), in the fields of Business Administration, Economics, and International Relations.
The priorities of the Faculty of Business Administration in education can be summarized as personalized education, the use of the most contemporary methods in education, and internationalization.
Maintaining small class sizes and implementing an ‘open-door’ policy significantly contribute to high communication between students and faculty members. These policies play a crucial role in achieving the goal of personalized education. As a result, students engage in continuous communication with faculty members and the Faculty Administration, exchanging information and discussing career plans. Consequently, a majority of our students have the opportunity to intern and work on national and international projects led by faculty members, allowing them to quickly enter the workforce upon graduation. Additionally, specialization options within the departments enable students to focus on their desired areas of expertise in planning their careers. The faculty supports various activities organized under student-managed clubs each year, including career days, meetings on current issues, summits, seminars, workshops, providing significant impact on students’ personal and social development.
Another priority of the faculty is the use of contemporary methods in education, supported by the current curriculum, technological infrastructure, smart classrooms, and various software applications. Furthermore, all faculty members receive training in different learning strategies such as case method, problem-based learning, simulation, role-playing, and the use of games in education.
The internationalization goal aligns with the globalization process in all social science fields. To achieve this, the Faculty has over 60 bilateral agreements within the Erasmus Program, agreements under the Mevlana Program, and academic cooperation agreements, including collaborations with institutions in the United States, Russia, Kazakhstan, and South Korea. Through these agreements, many students, administrative staff, and academic personnel benefit from exchange opportunities. Faculty members also make short visits to partner institutions abroad to give lectures and seminars. Providing international experience to every student before graduation is one of the goals of the Faculty. Additionally, during the annual “International Week” in May, foreign academicians from partner universities visit the Faculty, deliver lectures, and personally introduce their institutions. In this context, our students also have the opportunity to study in an international environment with foreign students who come to our Faculty for education from these countries. In summary, the Faculty of Business Administration is a motivated unit that provides education according to contemporary methods and techniques, prepares students for the global world and business life, and produces graduates equipped with the latest scientific knowledge and skills.
